SYSMONPP(1M) SYSMONPP(1M)
sysmonpp - System Monitor Preprocessor
sysmonpp is a syslogd filter which looks for syslog messages that are of
interest to the Desktop user and notifies the Desktop which then alerts
the user. The Desktop program imdmonitor(1M) must be running to receive
the notification. This is normally started as part of the IRIX
Interactive Desktop (IID).
To enable notification for any messages below critical priority, edit
/etc/syslog.conf. This is not done by default to reduce the performance
impact on the system. If the System Monitor software (sysmon) is not
installed, users may want to remove the sysmonpp line from
/etc/syslog.conf.
