NAME    [Toc]    [Back]

volevac - Evacuates all volumes from a disk

SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]

       /usr/sbin/volevac [-g diskgroup] medianame [new_medianame...]

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

The volevac script moves subdisks off the specified Logical
Storage Manager disk (medianame) to the specified destination
disks (new_medianame ...). Note that only those
subdisks that are associated with a volume are moved to
       the destination disk.

Subdisks that are part of unmirrored striped plexes are
moved by moving the entire plex to a new location.

If new_medianame operands are omitted, then any nonvolatile,
non-reserved disks can be used as destination
       disks.

This operation presumes that sufficient space exists elsewhere
in the disk group for the operation to complete. If
the process runs out of space, some of the volumes on the
       disk may not be evacuated.

This script is usually called from the voldiskadm menus.
