NAME    [Toc]    [Back]

showcase -	Basic drawing and presentation tool

SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]

     showcase [-bfnpsv]	[-Ppx,py] [-Ssllx,slly,surx,sury] [-V{NTSC,PAL}] [
     file1 ... ]

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

IRIS Showcase is a	mixed media presentation system. It's very useful for
creating interactive or printed presentations, short documents, onlinehelp
systems and much more. Showcase allows you to	integrate 2D drawings,
text, raster images, 3D models, and audio.

By	default, showcase displays a blank page, the Master Gizmo and the
Status Gizmo. The	Master Gizmo has a palette of objects that can be
created on	the page. These objects include text, 3D scenes, images,
audio, filled and unfilled	rectangles, ellipses, circles, arcs, polygons,
     splines, and freehand shapes.

For more information please refer to IRIS Showcase	User's Guide and the
     online help.

The following options apply to showcase:

-b Run in singlebuffer mode. Useful if you are running on an Entry
Graphics system and wish to start up in Full Color mode.

     -f Run in the foreground.

     -n Run with no borders.

-p Write	the named file as PostScript. The output goes to stdout. Only
converts one file at a time.

-s Display the file in slideshow	mode. No gizmos or menus appear.
<Alt>P starts	the slide show,	<Alt>H halts the show.

-v Read only mode. No gizmos or menus appear. Most user interaction is
ignored with the exception of	the page navigation keys. If the user
clicks on an object and that object is linked, the link will be
followed. If the object is an	audio object, the audio	will be
played. Scrolling text blocks	and 3D objects can be manipulated.

     -Ppx,py
Set size of the page in points. px and py are the point sizes in x
and y	direction. A point is 1/72" and showcase displays each	point
as a pixel. To create a page	that is	5" by 4" use -P360,288. The
	  default is an	8.5" by	11" page (612 x	792).

     -V{NTSC,PAL}
Set size of the page to a video format. NTSC	is 640 by 480 pixels.
PAL is 768 by	576 pixels.

     -Ssllx,slly,surx,sury
Set the size of the screen window in pixel coordinates. sllx	and
slly are the lower left corner x and y. surx	and sury are the upper
right	corner x and y. The default places the	window in the lower
	  right	corner of the screen.
