     inpcontrol	- InPerson control tool

     /usr/lib/InPerson/inpcontrol "commandstring"

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

     inpcontrol	is used	as a command line interface to InPerson.  It passes
     commands specified	in the commandstring to	InPerson.  This	is useful for
     applications that want to initiate	InPerson calls,	or for users who wish
     to	create InPerson	shortcuts.

USAGE    [Toc]    [Back]

   Placing and Receiving Calls
     inpcontrol	sends commandstring to InPerson.

     InPerson accepts a	number of commands in the following formats:

	       call [ -f whiteboardfile	] user1@host1, user2@host2, ...
	       author [	-f whiteboardfile ]
	       answer
	       hangup


   Examples    [Toc]    [Back]
     /usr/lib/InPerson/inpcontrol "call	-f foo.wb eho@xxx"
	  This will call user eho at machine xxx and use the InPerson
	  whiteboard file foo.wb in the	conference.

     /usr/lib/InPerson/inpcontrol "answer"
	  This will cause the user to answer the current incoming call if one
	  exists. Otherwise it will bring up the InPerson "Let's Make A	Call"
	  window.

     You must have InPerson running in order for inpcontrol to work
     successfully.

     Your DISPLAY variable must	be set to the X	display	of the inperson
     instance that you wish to control.

     Please see	the InPerson release notes for known bugs and workarounds.

     Currently inpcontrol does not return valid	values indicating the success
     or	failure	of any commands	it sends.  InPerson will display the error
     dialogs for any connection	errors encountered.
