NAME    [Toc]    [Back]

uucpd - Manages communications between the uucp program
       and TCP/IP

SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]

       /usr/sbin/uucpd

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

The uucpd daemon enables uucp connections through the
       Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/Internet Protocol
(IP). This daemon handles the login of uucp connections
and starts uucico to process the uucp requests.

The uucpd daemon is started by the inetd daemon. Make sure
that the entry for uucp exists in the /etc/inetd.conf
file. If the entry has a comment character at the beginning
of the line, remove the character and restart the
       inetd daemon.
