curs_inch, inch, winch, mvinch, mvwinch - Get a character
and its attributes from a Curses window
#include <curses.h>
chtype inch(
void ); chtype winch(
WINDOW *win ); chtype mvinch(
int y,
int x ); chtype mvwinch(
WINDOW *win,
int y,
int x );
Curses Library (libcurses)
Interfaces documented on this reference page conform to
industry standards as follows:
inch, winch, mvinch, mvwinch: XCURSES4.2
Refer to the standards(5) reference page for more information
about industry standards and associated tags.
These routines return the character, of type chtype, at
the current position in the named window. If any
attributes are set for that position, their values are
combined (through an inclusive OR operation) into the
value returned. Constants defined in <curses.h> can be
used with the & (logical AND) operator to extract the
character or attributes alone.
Attributes [Toc] [Back]
The following bit-masks may be used (logical AND) with
characters returned by winch. Bit-mask to extract character
Bit-mask to extract attributes Bit-mask to extract
color-pair field information
The header file <curses.h> automatically includes the
header file <stdio.h>.
Note that all of these routines may be macros.
