_getlong - Retrieves 32-bit quantities from a byte stream
#include <sys/types.h> #include <netinet/in.h> #include
<arpa/nameser.h> #include <resolv.h>
unsigned int _getlong(
u_char *message_ptr );
Standard C Library (libc)
Specifies a pointer into the byte stream.
The _getlong() function gets 32-bit quantities from the
byte stream or arbitrary byte boundaries.
The _getlong() function is one of a set of subroutines
that form the resolver, a set of functions that resolves
domain names. Global information that is used by the
resolver functions is kept in the _res data structure. The
include/resolv.h file contains the _res data structure
definition.
Upon successful completion, the _getlong() function
returns an unsigned int (32-bit) value.
Defines name server and domain names.
