NAME    [Toc]    [Back]

ipx - IPX Streams Multiplexor Driver

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

ipx is the	STREAMS	muliplexor driver providing the	IPX protocol stack.
Before being used,	this driver should be linked on	top of the DLPI	driver
llc2 using	the ipxlink program. This normally happens during system
startup when the /etc/init.d/netwr_client script is run. The driver
supports a	maximum	of four	physical network interfaces (/dev/lnkipx[0-
3]). Applications use the clone device /dev/ipx for IPX communication.
IEEE 802.2, NetWare 802.3 and Ethernet II frame types are supported.

SEE ALSO    [Toc]    [Back]

     dlpi(7), ipxlink(1), ml(1M), snetd(1M)

NOTES    [Toc]    [Back]

The DLPI network daemon (snetd) must be properly configured for the
     network interface to work properly.
