HOSTMANAGER(1M) HOSTMANAGER(1M)

NAME    [Toc]    [Back]

     HostManager - Host	Manager

SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]

     /usr/sysadm/bin/runcatalog	/usr/sysadm/catalogdf/SaHostCatalog.cdf

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

Managers display information about	your system and	provide	access to
interactive guides	(also called tasks) that let you administer your
system. For example, the User Manager displays a list of the user
accounts currently	on the system and gives	you access to guides like "Add
a User Account" and "Modify a User	Account".

In	the Manager window, you	can open a guide by choosing its name from the
Task menu or by clicking its button at the	bottom of the window.

The Host manager displays the local host list on your system. Please
refer to hosts(4) for more	information.

GUIDES    [Toc]    [Back]

Guides, also called "tasks," are interactive windows that lead users
through the steps necessary to perform various system administration
tasks, such as adding new user accounts and configuring networking	on the
     system.

A guide typically consists	of a series of pages that prompt users to
enter information or select options. A user navigates through guide pages
using the Prev and	Next buttons (or corresponding arrow keys). When the
user reaches the last page	of a guide and clicks the OK button, the
system executes one or more commands to perform the system	administration
task. These commands are located in /usr/sysadm/privcmd. See addhos
	for more information.

Many of the guides	require	that a user either know	the root password or
be	assigned the necessary privileges (using the PrivilegeManager(1M)) in
     order to perform the task.

     Add a Host	Entry
This task lets you add a	host entry to your local host list,
that is,	the /etc/hosts file. The privileges needed for	this
task is:	Add a Host Entry (addhost(1M)).

Modify a Host Entry    [Toc]    [Back]
This task lets you modify a host	entry in your local host list.
The privileges needed for this task is: Modify a	Host Entry
	       (addhost(1M)).

Delete a Host Entry    [Toc]    [Back]
This task lets you delete a host	entry from your	local host
list. The privileges needed for	this task is: Delete a Host
	       Entry (deletehost(1M)).
