miser_reset(1) miser_reset(1)
miser_reset - reset miser with a new configuration file
miser_reset -f filename | -h
The miser_reset command is used to force a running version of miser to
use a new configuration file (the format of the configuration file is
detailed in miser(4) ). The new configuration will succeed if and only
if all currently scheduled jobs can be successfully scheduled against the
new configuration. If the attempt at creating a new configuration fails,
then miser(1) retains the old configuration.
The miser_reset will fail if the requested new miser configuration
oversubscribes the resources that are currently available to miser. The
maximum system resources, memory and the number of CPUs, that are
available to miser, are specified at miser's initial startup by arguments
to command line options.
-f filename
Reset miser with a new configuration file specified, by the
filename. The format of the configuration file can be found in
miser(4).
-h Print the command's usage message.
The miser_reset command does not have the ability to increase existing
maximum system resources available to miser during original miser
startup.
Only a user with write access to the original miser system configuration
file may execute this command.
The miser_reset command cannot be used to change the time quantum in the
configuration file. Miser must be restarted if the time quantum is
changed.
