ADDCLIENT(1M) Printing Tools ADDCLIENT(1M)

NAME    [Toc]    [Back]

addclient - allow remote printing clients to connect

SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]

     addclient client
     addclient -a

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

This command is used on an	IRIS that has a	printer	attached to it. The
command registers a remote	user's machine,	allowing it to connect to this
machine in	order to submit	a printing request using lp(1). In the	first
form of the command, client is the	name of	a remote machine to which
access will be granted. If the second form of the	command	is used	then
all remote	machines will be granted access. This command modifies	the
     /etc/hosts.lpd file and possibly /etc/passwd.

Execute this command once for each	client machine that will use the
network to	submit printing	jobs on	this machine, or use the -a option to
     allow universal access.
