ADDVIRTUALSWAP(1M) ADDVIRTUALSWAP(1M)

NAME    [Toc]    [Back]

addVirtualSwap - adds virtual swap	space

SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]

     /usr/sysadm/privbin/addVirtualSwap	<MB of virtual swap to add>

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

addVirtualSwap creates a trivial file in the directory /vswap (which will
be	created, if necessary) and then	uses the swapctl(2) system call	to add
that entry	as the requested amount	of virtual swap	space.

This privcmd is not intended for command line use.	A better and more
flexible interface	is provided by the swap(1M) command.

FILES    [Toc]    [Back]

/etc/fstab gets	entry for new swap element

SEE ALSO    [Toc]    [Back]

     sysmgr(1M), runpriv, SwapManager(1M), swap(1M), swapctl(2)
