xf86config_convert - convert XF86Config file format
SYNOPSIS [Toc] [Back]
xf86config_convert [ input file ]
DESCRIPTION:
Convert the format of the XF86Config file specified to the format that
supports device files instead of driver names and bus ID's. If no file
is specified the the input file will be set to /etc/X11/XF86Config.
The old format of the /etc/X11/XF86Config allowed specification of
devices that were not actually on the system. The new format works in
conjunction with the Graphics VIDeo driver to ensure that the
specifications make sense.
This conversion tool will replace the "Driver" and "BusID" tokens with
a single "Devicefile" token that has been verified with GVID. Also,
now that the X server supports extension brokering there is no longer
a need to specify "Load" for any extensions in the "Module" section of
the config file.
