 nisshowcache(1M) nisshowcache(1M)

 NAME    [Toc]    [Back]
nisshowcache - NIS+ utility to print out the contents of the shared
      cache file

 SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]
      /usr/lib/nis/nisshowcache [ -v ]

 DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]
nisshowcache prints out the contents of the per-machine NIS+ directory
cache that is shared by all processes accessing NIS+ on the machine.
By default, nisshowcache only prints out the directory names in the
cache along with the cache header. The shared cache is maintained by
      nis_cachemgr(1M).

    Options    [Toc]    [Back]
-v Verbose mode. Print out the contents of each directory object,
including information on the server name and its universal
           addresses.

 WARNINGS    [Toc]    [Back]
HP-UX 11i Version 2 is the last HP-UX release on which NIS+ is
      supported.

LDAP is the recommended replacement for NIS+. HP fully supports the
industry standard naming services based on LDAP.

 DIAGNOSTICS    [Toc]    [Back]
Error messages are sent to the syslogd(1M) daemon.

 FILES    [Toc]    [Back]
      /var/nis/NIS_SHARED_DIRCACHE

 AUTHOR    [Toc]    [Back]
nisshowcache was developed by Sun Microsystems, Inc.

 SEE ALSO    [Toc]    [Back]
