custlink - CustomerLink graphical interface
/usr/sbin/custlink [-config on|off] [-cc cc-list]
Electronic Services CustomerLink (custlink) application provides a
desktop interface to the information stored in the Silicon Graphics
database. CustomerLink allows a registered user to view, maintain, and
update information pertaining to themselves and their relationship with
Silicon Graphics.
Command Lines
-config on|off
Starts the application to allow reconfiguration of CustomerLink to
setup the type of network configuration and the country where the
application is running.
-cc Specifies the email address to CC all emails from CustomerLink that
is sent to Silicon Graphics. It is useful if you want to view
exactly what is sent from your system. You can also set the
CustLink*custlinkCC: resource in your .Xdefaults or your
~/.custlinkrc file so you do not need to use the command line.
Example: CustLink*custlinkCC: [email protected]
/usr/custlink/util/getsysinfo
A utility to get the system serial number and the system model type
from the local machine or from a remote host given the hostname and
loginname.
~/.custlinkrc
Stores the user preferences and caches information when the data
cannot be sent to the backend
/usr/custlink/*.ps
Files used by CustomerLink for printing
/usr/custlink/*.dat
Files that have the list of Application Segments, SGI Office
addresses
/usr/etc/mps/CustLink.reg
A file that specifies where the backend server is. Usually this
should not be changed
/usr/etc/mps/CustLink.log
Any errors are logged here.

CustomerLink does not automatically detect internet connection if it was
previously configured as not having internet connection. To start
CustomerLink with a new internet connection, run custlink with the config
option as described above.
Please note: the Electronic Services tools use the Internet to transmit
information between your site and Silicon Graphics. THE INTERNET IS A
PUBLIC USE EXCHANGE AND NOT A SECURE COMMUNICATIONS MECHANISM. For this
reason, please do not send information that is confidential to your
company or your business partners (including passwords, usernames,
hostnames, product plans, customer data or the like) when you use the
Electronic Services tools.
